Care.

As you may or may not know, this will be my last post as a UserVoice employee. I want to leave you with one big thought.

Care.

The people that care about me are the ones I care about in turn.

They’re the ones I’ll help move 30 pieces of furniture for.

They’re the ones I’ll go to bat for professionally.

They’re the ones I’ll sleep in a hospital waiting room for.

They’re the ones I’ll make dinner for even when I’m exhausted because I know they’re more exhausted.

Care about your customers.

They can tell.

The companies the care about me are the ones I care about in turn.

They’re the ones I’ll keep using even after a bad outage.

They’re the ones I’ll defend tirelessly (even when they’re wrong).

They’re the ones I’ll force all my friends to sign up for.

They’re the ones I’ll stick with despite the innovations or viral marketing their competitors create.

Care about what you do.

We can tell.

The people that care about what they do are the ones I want to work with.

The people that care about what they do get ahead in the long run.

The people that care about what they do get offered amazing jobs not because they fit a list of requirements, but because their attitude excites people.

The people that care about what they do don’t find work to be a drain…they find it exciting.

Please care.

And thank you for caring for me all these years.

Sincerely,

-Evan Hamilton
