Here at UserVoice we’re all mobile addicts. We’ve got a pile of iPhones, iPads, and a few Android phones between the 13 of us. So we know exactly how you feel when you’re forced to deal with a site that isn’t designed for the mobile web.
Earlier this year we optimized the Admin Console for the iPad (Which we used to great success when our building was evacuated because of a gas leak!). This month, we’ve optimized the UserVoice widget for mobile devices.
In addition to ensuring that the functionality works properly for touch devices, we’ve also made our widget open in a new window on mobile devices, instead of as an overlay, since overlays can cause problems on mobile devices. We’ve added a little “Close” link so they don’t have to find their way back to your site.
You’ll notice that right now, this means that the Instant Answers functionality disappears on smaller devices. That’s only temporary – we’ll be working on developing an optimization for Instant Answers as well.
